Newsletter - July 2007
Welcome
GrabYourBoots.com launched on Sunday 17th June 2007, so has now been live for exactly one month. We've been working hard to help people find the sites by exchanging links with others which we think will be of interest to our members.
There have been a few minor adjustments to the site based on the feedback we've had, such as:
- the walks page now has instructions for using the map
- the red and blue walk markers are now easier to hover over
- The Virtual Earth maps will now also work in some lesser known web browsers such as Camino (which is like Firefox). Safari still doesn't work, but this is outside of our control.
If you do have any comments, or want to see something on the site or in the newsletter, then contact us through the site.
We would also appreciate it if you were to send this newsletter to anyone who may be interested in the site. We think word of mouth is the best promotion.
The National Trust is Britain's largest conservation organisation, caring for 300 historic houses, 700 miles of spectacular coastline and over 600,000 acres of beautiful countryside.
Introductory membership starts from £32.63 (for the first year when you pay by Direct Debit). Find out more...
GPS profiles
A new feature for walks on the site is a profile graph:
All walks with GPS data have these, such as:
- Skiddaw from Ormathwaite
- Cwm Prysor Viaduct, Trawsfynydd
- Higher Burwardsley and around Peckforton Castle
- The Sandstone Trail at Frodsham
Remember, you can add your own walks to the site, and if you upload GPS data (in GPX format) then a profile like these will be automatically generated. It's easy!
Thanks for reading, we hope you have some great walks!
